Drawing Workshop Fun

So I’m finally getting around to telling you how the drawing workshop at Art Space Collective went. It’s been a bit hectic lately between doing the 7 walls of murals at 140 William, renovating our kitchen and keeping up with my portraiture work. All of which have been really fun and exciting.

Drawing Workshop

The drawing workshop was great. I had some really lovely ladies come and join me on a sunny Saturday afternoon in the beautiful Art Space Collective workshop room. I was so impressed with what the ladies turned out.

We worked on portraiture so everyone brought in a photo to work from and I gave them some tips on how to make the best of their pieces.

I’d definitely run another workshop in the future. I’ve learned so much from this last one about what people struggle with and how to explain techniques better. I’ve been talking to Art Space Collective about it and we’ll probably set up another one at the beginning of next year some time so stayed tuned. I’ll let you all know as soon as we’ve worked out an official date.

Graphite Drawing Workshop

Hey everyone! Super exciting news! I’m going to be running a graphite drawing workshop. So to all those people who ask me how I do it, now you can find out!

It’s going to be held at The Art Space Collective which is an amazing little hub of creativity and is run by the loveliest ladies who have given me this awesome opportunity to use their beautiful space. The address is 80A Scarborough Beach Rd, Scarborough.

The workshop is on Saturday the 24th of September from 2-4pm so you could go and have a lazy Saturday lunch with your friends first and then spend a relaxing couple of hours creating your very own masterpiece or just picking up some new drawing techniques with a glass of wine, some tunes and some good creative company.

Drawing Demonstration

I’ve been asked to do a drawing demonstration at Jacksons Drawing Supplies in Subiaco! I’m so excited. It should be heaps of fun. It’s on Wednesday the 15th of June from 10:30am to 11:15am and it’s completely FREE. I can’t wait to share some drawing techniques with you that have really helped me to get the look I’m trying to achieve in my work. I’ve had a lot of creative breakthrough moments and learning curves over my lifetime of practice. New original drawings and limited edition prints

I’m really proud to show everyone my latest available original drawings and limited edition prints. These drawings are all from my latest series, “Floating Heads”. They’re quirky, graphite pencil drawings of some of my favourite weird looking animals. Click the links below to view these hilarious little guys as original art works or as prints in the shop.

I’ve had so much fun drawing these crazy little heads. I haven’t drawn so much in a long time as I’ve been concentrating a lot more on my painting skills, which has been great because I love working with colours but drawing is my first love and I’d forgotten how much I really enjoy it. It comes really naturally to me so it’s quite a relaxing, almost meditative process for me. Hours can go by in what feels like minutes. These are only the A4 “Floating Heads” that I’ve finished. I have a lot more A3 ones which I’m still in the process of making available for prints so get ready to see a lot more hilarious faces looking back at you.

Bali Pet Crusaders Charity Art Auction

Recently I drew a cat and dog head for a T-shirt design for the Bali Pet Crusaders. My Mum is living on the island at the moment and got to know them because they have a veterinary clinic quite close to her house. She was amazed at the awesome and really important work that they do to help the dogs on the island. The Bali Pet Crusaders are an Australian registered charity created by passionate animal lovers and people who are strongly affected by the stray dog and cat population in Bali. They believe that with their Sterilisation Project they can truly make a difference to the animal welfare on the island with the help of the local and international communities.

Seeing as I only needed to send them a digital copy of the drawings to use on the shirts I still have the originals with me so I thought it would be a great idea to auction them off and try to raise some money for this amazing cause. So if you love animals and you love Bali please make a bid for one or both of these drawings and I will give all the profits to Bali Pet Crusaders. The bidding will start on the 3rd of March, 2016 and finish on the 31st of March, 2016. All you have to do is let me know how much you bid and I will keep track of what it’s up to. I will announce the winners on the 1st of April, 2016. Please share this post with as many animal and Bali lovers as you know.
