This adorable little giraffe was originally painted as a gift for my friend’s baby’s room along with the other water colour baby animals in the limited edition print store. They look amazing as a little set all in white frames above his change table and I’m told that whenever he’s being changed he looks up at them and giggles and tries to talk to his little animal friends who watch over him. I love knowing that as he grows up he’ll always have some friendly faces to look to for comfort and hopefully one day he can pass them on to his children.

This drawing is a part of my “Floating Head” series. I just really wanted to draw this little guy’s head because he looks hilarious and made me laugh as soon as I saw his weird alien-like head. That’s pretty much my criteria for heads to draw in my “Floating Head” series. If I spontaneously laugh when I see an animal’s face then I have to draw it’s kooky head straight away. I just really don’t like serious art. I think it should make you feel good and maybe even make you laugh.
