Original graphite pencil on watercolour paper, Baby drawing.
I originally drew this to submit in to “A Dot on the Run” competition/exhibition. I really just drew him because he made me laugh and I don’t like to get too serious with my work. I like the depth that the black background gives to it, seeming to push his face forward. I was just getting back in to drawing after a long time of concentrating solely on my painting skills. Drawing comes very naturally to me and I really like how you can be incredibly precise with a pencil where as a paint brush is never quite as sharp. Also it’s great to be able to get so many different shades out of the one piece of equipment.
